The Steamboat Ketam Village, Ikano

>> Sunday, May 23, 2010

Had dinner at the one and only steamboat restaurant at Ikano last night. Checked the information of the place, it is Ketam Village Steamboat Restaurant. Ordered two Double Combo Set (RM32.80) and other ala carte; fish mee (RM3.90), mussels (RM4.90), sliced beef (RM6.90), sliced lamb set (RM22.80), quails eggs (RM2.90), fish mee (RM3.90), sliced beef set (RM22.80), special combo set (RM29.80) and drinks. Total - RM196.80

There were 8 of us and I don't like it when it comes to the billing part. I'm not sure for other people but I always feel uneasy if I'm the one have to deal with this situation. When the bill come, it's hard to calculate how much each of them should pay plus everyone on table waiting and looking at you.

The steamboat was so-so to me. I prefer the steamboat at Sunway and Serdang. Cheap, nice and fulfilling. For this steamboat, they even charge RM2 for soup refill (Clear and Tom Yam soup). The chinese tea is refillable. We didn't know that and ordered another cold chinese tea. So, there goes another charges. Remember to ask for refill not a new glass.

But the chilli paste and fried shalllots are nice. Not enough with the hot and spicy chilli plus tom yam, we went for dessert session - Ikea RM1 ice cream. Busy-bodied at 50-70% Body Shop Sale (another 10% for members). Ended the night with another cone of ice-cream and half dozen curry puff (RM5.50). Omg!!!
