Thank God, Nayati is found safe!

For those of you who have been following the recent news, you will know about Nayati where he was abducted at 7.35am on April 27 while walking to his Mont Kiara International school. Today, May 3rd, 2012, the Star news reported that Nayati has been found safe and back with his family. This is really a good news but we must always remember to be extra cautious. Parents out there, although it's really beyond one's control to observe the children 24/7 but try to keep your children's safe. Read more from the Star

TOKYO: Cosway Corporation Ltd plans to introduce a 3-in-1 concept at Cosway shops throughout Malaysia beginning next month with an investment of RM10 million.

Chairman and chief executive officer Al Chuah said the 3-in-1 (organic, pharmacy and Cosway products) concept would boost next year's revenue to RM2 billion compared with RM1.7 billion expected this year.

"The 3-in-1 concept is the first in the world and it is not entirely a multi-level-marketing system but will offer a retail shop concept.

"We will introduce the concept not only in Malaysia but in other countries where we operate currently.

"We decided to introduce the pharmacy-concept as it will attract a lot of customers to our shops compared with those who only walk into our shops because they know the brand," he told reporters after the launch of the 3-in-1 Cosway shop here by Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri.

The minister said the first concept store would not only sell pharmaceutical and organic products but also other Cosway products. Of the 2,000 products sold in the shop, more than 400 products, are made in Malaysia.

"This is one way to export our products to Japan. With Cosway, owned by Malaysians, we can actually bring in more Malaysian products into Japan," said Ismail Sabri. Meanwhile, Al Chuah said Cosway planned to expand their network in Japan to about 100 outlets next year with an investment of between RM30 million and RM50 million.

"We also plan to penetrate Mexico, Columbia, Russia, China and Turkey next year and would invest RM20 million in each of these markets.

Berjaya Corp Bhd (BCorp) chairman Tan Sri Vincent Tan said he was confident the concept would be a success and compete internationally.

He said Cosway planned to export more Malaysian-made quality products which met the criteria of Japanese - Bernama

Language Confusion

What is this keep switching the language for the subjects? It just sounded like students can't cope up in English and that they must go with BM. In another meaning, the percentage of students score in examination is decreasing? Well, eventually after Form 5 they will still need to deal with English language in college/university right? That is why a lot of Uni students can't understand a thing because they've used to BM from primary one to form five, not to mention (some maybe) neglecting the English subject. Indecisive oh... aah well, bummer!

• Students who have started learning Science and Mathematics in English will continue to do so until they complete their studies in Form Five.
• Muhyiddin said schools would have the option to teach Science and Mathematics fully in English, Bahasa Malaysia, or bilingually.
• “Students will continue with whatever system they have in place now, be it in English, Bahasa Malaysia or both languages.”
• The two subjects will be fully taught again in Bahasa Malaysia starting 2016 for primary schools and 2021 for secondary schools.
• “They can even answer one question in English and another in Bahasa Malaysia in the same examination paper,” he added.

What is actually Bersih 2.0 ? I didn't bother to know about this rally because all I know it's all about politic and sementara they all sangat syok mau memprotes sini dan sana, membeli and mendesign t-shirt, buat banner besar-besar, and buat hal.... yang suffer is the rakyat. They said roadblocks will start midnight 9 July but it had started since 8 July and lead to massive jam in KL area and Selangor. Companies allowing their staffs to go home as early as 4am yesterday to avoid jam doesn't help either. Probably they should just give 1 day free paid-leave to them. I saw the traffic jam since 3.30pm. I thought orang baru nak balik ke office dari sembahyang Jumaat, 3pm... sekali check-check, it's 3.30pm but already jam like hell. The traffic at Tol Sg. Besi was terrible, I saw the cars not moving and very-very slow even if it's moving. The scene of the traffic maintained from 8pm to after 12am. So kesian kan....

Bersih 2.0’s calls consist of 8 points. In summary, they are : 1. Clean the electoral roll 2. Reform postal ballot 3. Use of indelible ink 4. Minimum 21 days campaign period 5. Free and fair access to media 6. Strengthen public institutions 7. Stop corruption 8. Stop dirty politics

Seems like good intention of the formation of BERSIH but well, of course there'll be other parties that will come up with something to attack 'you'. Why la this people cannot behave and make peace. Bikin panas!

Kesian la this guy, he kena 5 saman from police for offences (2 in Perak, another one at KM383 and other places) - speeding and accident. Both car, Myvi with same plate number WSV 5270 but different colour. The 'buat hal' car is white colour, a Malay driver, and the innocent car is silver colour, Chinese driver. The white car got many accessories. Mr Poong, 23, already paid 2 summonses last year for something that he didn't do. He thought after that no more already until he got another one for not reporting an accident occured at Subang. So, he went report police and to MCA Public Services and Complaints Department.

Datuk Michael Chong said, it's either a technical mistake had occurred when the cars were registered or some people are using registration numbers of other vehicle owners.

He urged the public with information to call the police or the department at 03-2161 8044. Myvi White...go menyerah diri lah you. Always speeding!

Two more food products recalled on suspicion of being tainted

• Two more Taiwanese food products have been recalled under suspicion they are tainted by a cancer-causing plastic additive.

• Strawberry Pudding Powder and Strawberry Pudding - manufactured by Signwin Food Enterprise were suspected of being contaminated with bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP).

• Jelly Powder imported by Cocon Food Industries Sdn Bhd and five other products, Coconut Ice, Frozen Coffee, Honey Aloevera, Mango, Kumquat, Peace Juice, imported by Ho Chuan Trading - were safe for consumption.

• Ministry had ordered the company (Cosway) to destroy Oriyen Nutri Grow (Boy) Orange Drink Premix, 330g product (code: 36135). Those who have earlier consumed the product do not have to worry as the health risk from the contamination was low.

• Oriyen Nutri Grow (Girl) Cranberry Drink Premix, 330g product (Code: 36136) was found to be safe.

Just in case, any of you who haven't read the news of 'snatch thieves motorists'.... read it. It's very sad and scary to know this kind of incident happen all the time to anyone. They, the thieves will aim at female driver who normally drives alone. So, ladies....becareful and remember don't put personal belongings, laptop or handbag at the passenger seat beside or behind. It's very dangerous.

True enough, the same case happened to my friend few years back. She was shocked as it happened soo fast but luckily, she's unhurt and manage to grabbed her handbag that time, but window was broken. Committed Suicide with FB Status Updated

I saw this news via shared link. So, I clicked the link and read the post. It's about this guy, 22 years old, committed suicide because of his girlfriend. To summarize it, the guy committed suicide because his gf wanted to breakup with him (relationship problem). He jumped off from his place, 10+ building in Cheras, KL. He posted his status in FB before committing suicide that he's sorry to his beloved family, take care and what he should do in his countdown for 45 minutes.

SHAH ALAM: Police expect to take action against the owners of the company whose bus crashed at Genting Sempah last week.

Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Rahim Abdullah said action would be taken against them for hiring a driver who did not have a valid driving licence.

He added that the bus company’s business registration number showed that it was based in Perlis.

“We have yet to record a statement from the owner of the company but expect to do so within a couple of days,” ACP Abdul Rahim said after attending the police Deepavali open house at the Selangor police headquarters near here yesterday.

The driver, who is currently receiving treatment for a broken leg at Hospital Kuala Lumpur, is expected to be released on police bail today.

The bus skidded and overturned at the 38km of the Genting Sempah road on Friday, killing seven and injuring 39 others.

The driver told police he had lost his licence, but a check with the Road Transport Department (JPJ) showed that he did not have one.

Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (CVLB) chairman Datuk Halimah Mohamed Sadique had, in a statement earlier, said that the driver S. Muthumani, 36, was employed by Taipan Suria (MM2H) Sdn Bhd and that an audit finding on the company was held yesterday to get more details on the company’s operations.

The results of the audit, she said, would be tabled on Nov 8 at a meeting of the Fatal Accident Inquiry Committee.

Sources said it was time to review charter bus licences as such buses had monopolised the industry and had affected express bus, school bus and factory bus operators.

They also said Taipan Suria, which was registered in March 1997, had four directors and had 99 active licences.

However, the JPJ’s system showed that 101 buses were registered under the company as charter buses.

The bus involved in the crash – with registration number RC 9863 – was registered on Jan 25, 1996 under the charter bus category.

It was learnt that JPJ was in the midst of investigating why the charter bus had the word Trans Holiday on it and was painted in green and white – the colours of a tour bus.

Pan-Malaysia Bus Operators Association president Datuk Mohamad Ashfar Ali suggested that bus drivers have an identity card similar to the one displayed by taxi drivers when on duty to allow passengers to report reckless drivers.

He added that the association had made the suggestion five years ago.

MKP-1 gene - play a key role in depression

PARIS (AFP) - – Scientists in the United States said they had found a gene that appears to play a key role in the onset of depression, a finding that could unlock new avenues for drug engineers.

A gene called MKP-1 was identified by Yale University investigators after comparing the genetic codes of 21 deceased people who had been diagnosed with depression with those of 18 otherwise healthy individuals.

Outrage over fiery death

When I read this news yesterday, I was at rage with this accident. A woman's death caused by a very unhelpful BHP petrol attendants. It was reported that the BHP attendants refused to open the door for Teo as he was not acting calmly when asking for assistance. How can a normal person acts calm when he just saw a woman's life in danger and first thing he wanted to do is save her as fast as he could? Well, in that situation it is clearly seen that the attendants were calm in handling that matter by refusing to help and even defending themselves saying Teo wasn't in a proper act. They were wrong and yet they're giving their excuse to 'protect' themselves. Sigh! Inhuman!

That's my personal opinion. I'm sure for the management, they will view that according to their rules. Like maybe you should not open the door for anyone or attend anyone acting suspiciously or bla bla bla. Again, the attendant in the shop was not alone. He could have asked his friend to quickly pass the fire extinguisher to Teo, he can take Teo's IC as guarantee (as he had offered that) or in whatsoever way, he could have at least done something not just stand inside there. Takkan the attendant don't have his own instinct or belas kasihan or hati perut. If I were Teo I will surely naik gila with that attendants and forever have that non-erasable feeling seeing the woman at that moment.

I was willing to leave my IC with the staff as a guarantee, but they refused,” said Teo.

Angered at the staff’s refusal to cooperate, he started yelling at the staff and said that if the victim died, they would be the murderers.

In retaliation, the staff instead threatened to report Teo to management as well as the police.

When it was clear he would not get any aid, he returned to the accident site.

By the time he returned, the fire had consumed the car along with its driver.

What saddens Teo is that he claims police at the scene said that the driver’s life could have likely been saved if a fire extinguisher had arrived in time.

According to a representative from the fire department, the accident claimed one life in total with two others in critical condition while another person, the lorry driver, was stable.

Update: The deceased is believed to be Florina ak Joseph, 27, a Sarawakian native and a student. Confirmation of the deceased’s identity is pending DNA test results.

Photos of the accident were posted up on the Ondscene blog, by an anonymous bystander.

BHP government relations manager Abdul Kaiyum when contacted claimed that the BHP attendants refused to open the door for Teo as he was not acting calmly when asking for assistance. Neither did they refer to their supervisor because it was past midnight.

In defence of the staff in charge, he said that the two of them previously had been attacked and beaten up by assailants while on duty at the station. Update: BHP clarified that there will be no formal press conference over the matter and has yet to release a formal media statement.

I believe anyone who reads this news will have different reaction. Some might say, this woman is stupid. Some might pity her. But, whatever it is, as an outsider we won't know what situation she's facing during those time until she agreed and decided to give her money.

I copied one of the paragraph from the news :

".... the man told her that he was sending 10 gifts for Easter, including a designer wrist watch, perfume, a Louis Vuitton bag, jewellery, a laptop computer, a camera and his latest picture through a courier service in April"

RM 16,500 for the gifts? Is it reasonable? I don't think so. She can even buy it on her own if she has that much cash to deposit to the guy. Maybe the guy's picture worth more...

Hope that all ladies, women, girls out there, always becareful with this kind of scam. It is the easiest 'making-money-job' for the scammers. If not, they won't even do it.
