Coconut Body Polish, Coffee Body Scrub and the DIY

>> Saturday, April 16, 2011

Coconut body polish by Ramuanspa has a very nice fragrance of coconut. I like it. In the instruction, it's recommended to use this after a scrub to polish your body and give it a radiant glow. Being lazy, I only use it when I remember to but the result was great. It's like having a coconut milk bath feeling and your skin will smell nice after shower beside leaving the skin soft. I bought it only at RM4.90; can be used several times.

Coconut Body Polish
Ramuan’s Coconut Body Polish helps rejuvenate the mind, body and soul with its soothing, fragrant blend of coconut and pandanus leaf. It leaves skin feeling refreshed with a radiant glow.

Ingredients : Coconut powder,  Rice powder and Pandan leaf extract

Coffee grounds helps in exfoliating our dead skin and reduce the size of the pores. It will also firm and tone our skin, leaving our skin soft and moisturized after shower. Coffee is one of the common natural sources of caffeine. Caffeine has been reported to be a great stimulant and effective in cellulite treatment (minimizing cellulite appearance) and also varicose veins.

After finishing my Ramuanspa coffee scrub, I did a DIY coffee body scrub (read below for more).  The ramuanspa coffee scrub is in powder form and you just mix it with water to make paste. Apply it on your body in circular motion and leave it for a while - few minutes. Rinse it off. You'll get a refreshing feeling with soft skin. Worth the try and it's only RM4.90 when I bought it. It can last for 2-3 times usage depending on the amount you use.

Malaysian Coffee Scrub

A delicious and fragrant blend of coffee, native cocoa, and cinnamon, Ramuan’s Malaysian Coffee Scrub reveals enhanced skin freshness, while gently exfoliating and stimulating circulation. This traditional mix of Malaysian ingredients enlivens the body and mind, while leaving skin feeling fresh and radiant.
Ingredients : Coffee arabica (coffee) powder, oryza sativa (rice) powder, theobroma cacao (cocoa) powder, oryza sativa var. glutinosa (white and black glutinous rice), citrus hystrix (kaffir lime) powder, cinnamomum cassia (cinnamon) powder.

DIY Coffee Body Scrub
Got the recipe from ehow and care2

I modified some because I don't have olive oil , avocado oil or any other essential oil so I used my Palmer's skin therapy oil.

Ingredients :
2 cups of ground coffee
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1 teaspoon of honey
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract (for fragrance)
3 teaspoon of skin oil therapy

Mix all ingredients. You can add cinnamon too if you want. Apply it on your wet body. You can use warm water to  moisten your skin and open up the pores. Rub with hands or using loofah mitt in circular motion on your body. I rinsed it off followed with a body cleanser because the coffee 'stains' on the skin were quite strong (or maybe I put too much?). I became abit 'tanned' after that.

As what happened to me, it was a mess in the shower. So, prepare for the messiness and coffee colour everywhere. Just make sure to clean the shower area after 'coffee' bath. It's worth it in the end with a soft moisturized skin. I read reviews that it really helps in reducing cellulite appearance but you have to stick to this routine and be patient.

Try it out! Good Luck  :)

Scrub, Cleanse and Moisturise for Silky Smooth, Baby-Soft Skin

Bought this product, Bioglo Red Ginseng body scrub last month. I'm a big fan of body scrub. Everytime after body scrub session from the shower, first thing that I'll do is to feel and touch my smooth skin... Haha.. This red ginseng body scrub is quite different from other body scrubs that I've used before such as Body Shop, Natio (my fav as well), Bioglo Cherry Blossom and some other brands that I can't remember. It makes your skin like baby-smooth skin instantly. I tried on ankle, elbow and knee on first day.... Nice!! You can feel less rough on the targeted area. Second day, I tried on body... aaah...the whole body; super smooth... ! For those who wanted a smooth skin especially if you have rough surface on your knee, elbow and ankle.. you'll love this body scrub. Highly recommended! This scrub is for you if you answer yes to any of the two questions below...

Do you suffer from dry, rough elbow skin?
Dark, rough knees?

How this product works?
Creamy foaming scrub loaded with exfoliating walnut shells removes layers of dead skin cells to reveal softer, smoother brighter skin instantly. Enriched with premium Korean Red Ginseng and 12 nourishing plant extracts to renew and rejuvenate your skin for a supple, flawless finish.

Why removes dead skin cells?
Elbow skin is thicker in texture to protect the underlying elbow bone from harm. The thicker skin is more susceptible to dryness and moisture loss. To treat the thickness skin found in the area, first step is to exfoliate the area to remove dead skin cells. So that, moisturizer can better hydrate and soften the area.

After exfoliating, the next step is to moisturize and rehydrate the skin in the area. I used Palmer's cocoa butter formula. Try it. There will be a significant difference between applying moisturizer alone on the targeted area and exfoliating plus applying moisturizer.

Hope this info helps...
